Call for Artists: "Florida Strong: Resilience & New Beginnings"

Exhibition Overview: In the wake of adversity, Florida has shown incredible resilience. The exhibition "Florida Strong" aims to celebrate the strength, hope, and spirit of rebuilding that embodies the essence of this remarkable state. We are inviting artists from all mediums to submit works that explore themes of recovery, renewal, resilience, and transformation in the face of challenges.

This is a chance for artists to reflect on personal and observed experiences of rebuilding, both in the aftermath of natural disasters or other hardships, and the journey toward hope and new beginnings.

Eligibility: Open to all artists, regardless of location.
Mailed work must include a return shipping label.
Artwork must be original and created within the past two years.

Themes: Artists are encouraged to explore one or more of the following themes:
Rebuilding: Depictions of restoration, growth, and transformation in the wake of destruction.
Hope: The power of optimism, community, and healing.
New Beginnings: Fresh starts, reimagining the future, and embracing opportunities for change.
Resilience: Strength in overcoming adversity, personal or communal survival, and long-term recovery.

Mediums Accepted:

 

Paintings, drawings, and mixed media.

Photography.

Sculpture.

Textiles and other craft-based works.

Deadline for Submissions:December 23

Artwork delivery: Friday 12/27 & Saturday 12/28, Noon-5:30 pm.

Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration.

Each submission should include:

High-quality images of the artwork (JPEGs or PNGs preferred).

Title, dimensions, medium, and year created for each piece.

Artwork should be ready for display (framed or mounted, if applicable) and properly wired on the back.

About the Exhibition: "Florida Strong" is part of an ongoing initiative to promote resilience and creativity in the arts community. The show will highlight the strength of individuals, families, and communities as they recover from adversity. The exhibition will also provide a platform for artists to share their voices in response to the state’s challenges and triumphs.

We look forward to seeing how your work reflects Florida’s spirit of rebuilding, hope, and renewal!

Special Instructions

 

  • 40% Commission on all work sold. 60% to Artist.
  • All submissions must be for sale.
  • Submit up to three pieces for consideration.
  • Add all info requested in the online submission program about each submission including the works title, dimensions, media and price.

Submission Guidelines:

Entry Fee: $15/entry

Up to 3 entries per artist

Size limitation for 2 dimensional works: 36x48" (any direction)

Important Dates:

Submissions Due by December 23

Notification of Acceptance: by December 25

Drop Off: December 27 & 28, Noon-5:30pm

Show dates January 4 - 24

Event Reception: Saturday, January 4, 5-9pm

Art Pick Up: Saturday, January 25, Noon-6pm
