this large work was inspired by the idylls of the 18th Cen French Rococo painter Antoine Watteau. i used the golden light he favored by glazing the work with transparent Indian Yellow with purple. The children are in awe of the ballerina teaching them. The setting is autumn, a favorite season of mine. The park location may be in Chicago.
