Information

This photograph recreates Edgar Alan Poe's short story The Pit and The Pendulum, though I've taken certain liberties in it's representation. A pendulum hangs ominously over an open pit in the center of a room where four smoking kettles stand guard in the corners.
This image is from my series Misbegotten Places, where photographs are created from dioramas that I build. With proper lighting and camera angles, they come to life.
