I have always held a fascination with the vegetal representation of existence, and the agrarian societies which preceded our industrial age. The paint must be molded, cultivated, in such a way as to allow our complete escape into a realm, while simultaneously keeping us firmly rooted in this one.
I have been working in oil for quite some time and am challenged by both its limitations as well as its possibilities. This particular wok is my attempt at transcending the medium and once again falling short.
