This piece was escapism for me - in both the literal and figurative sense. After the passing of my grandfather, I ran off to the mountains for a few days. There I was able to understand a little more about myself and how I wanted to memorialize thoughts, feelings and emotions with the things around me. Ironically, I ended up at an aquarium (something very familiar to my Florida soul) and snapped some photos of the jellyfish imaged above. They reminded me of the clouds we see, constantly flowing in grace and shifting into something specific for each of us. I wanted to marry the clouds and sea that day, and knew I could do it through my art moving forward.
