My series of paintings entitled "Flammable Florida" serve as a commentary on the delicate balance between nature's beauty and the looming threat of global warming. In the fashion of magic realism, plants protest in a fiery manner, and Florida's wild beauty serves as the perfect backdrop.

As the sun sets and twilight descends upon this tranquil Florida landscape, the Mandarin Cap Plant belches flames like a blow torch. It is a wake-up call. What does a plant have to do to get our attention? The encroachment of civilization is bringing environmental peril, and we seem to be asleep at the wheel.

However, hope is symbolized by the juxtaposition of the tiny delicate flowers against the sprawling landscape. The flowers appear huge, dominating their environment, a reminder of defiance and resilience in the face of adversity.
