this scene is very close by to where i live in Santa Barbara. It shows the beach at Hendry's, a popular spot for sunbathing, swimming and eating. The numerous lovely mommies and their children inspired the two figures of mother and daughter. The unusual vertical landscape format is something i use frequently. The reflections in wet sand were fascinating. The golden light of late afternoon is typical. Oil on canvas 24x36"
