Information

When I found an empty nest in my garden, I decided to create a series of woodblocks using the nest. For this print, I drew the nest in charcoal directly on the block, then carved away the background. The nest was printed in brown ink over a background of bird and leaf shapes that burst from the center. The image becomes an icon to the circle of life, ecology and rebirth. Woodblock and collagraph print on Okawara paper.
