I had this one brilliant paint chip I created as bi-product of a piece I was working on. The "bangs," the green swirl above this person's head in my piece "Always Growing," was my starting point. The green pretzel swirl made me think
of one of the characters from the Charlie Brown cartoon. Charlie Brown's sister, Sally Brown, had just these scribble bangs. So, I knew it had to be used to create hair, and this woman came out. The paper and paint chips throughout the hair represent knowledge she's obtained and and pieces of her past; the events and the memories we all carry with us. The flowers and her expression are pointing to feelings of positivity, curiosity, and ideas blossoming under the surface. Besides the bangs, my other favorite part is the paint chip lips!
