Who says pleir air painting isn't exciting? Set up in the scrub off of Ponce De Leon beach in Punta Gorda I'm surreptitiously checking for spiders and fire ants. I have just enough time to block in the scene before me, all the while hoping I get a good view of the sunset. All blocked in and it looks like I actually do know where the sun sets, good! Now to wait, and wait as the sun crawls towards the sea, wait, wait. Oh, look at those colors, wow, grab the right pastels, apply and oh look! it's really orange now but it's getting so dark! I can barely see my painting in front of my face. How could it get dark so fast? So, the Sizzle at the End either refers to the sun setting into the water or my brain on plein air, catch the light overdrive.
