This is a studio Reconstruction of Vermeer's Classic Painting on permanent view in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. The painting of the Last judgment cuts the image in 4 equal parts and provides counterpoint to the delicate balance to measure the gold on the table. It is a balance image representing allegorically the balance between light and darkness, spirituality and materialism, good and evil, life and death.
