This woodprint features the dynamic shapes of Florida's native palmetto, a shrubby palm with berries coveted birds and people. Its tangle of roots, stems and leaves create wonderful habitat.
Carved in basswood, the palm print shows woodgrain and carving marks in the black ink. A simple background block, with a large white circle carved away, was printed in evening blue. The berries were stamped in green and purple.
Signed and numbered on the reverse in pencil.
