time is unending yet we all have a finite amount of it in our lives, we think we will somehow outlast death but in the end we all end up just being dust in the wind

i created this unique frame to add an extra depth to the narrative and pull the viewer even further into the mage and give it a visual tactile feel rooted in reality. the sand in the frame is of the same type used in the image and represents not only returning to the earth after we die but also the sands of time within the hourglass as they both embody the concept of time and our own mortality combined
