This piece comes from a series of photographic images that explores the notion of bringing to life fantastical and mythological characters -- from witches, to Gods and Goddesses, to superheroes.

As a lifelong pop-culture geek -- from literature, to comic books, to movies -- I love bringing characters to life. The thrill of making a character borne of the imagination into the real world is probably one of the things that most draws me to the spate of live action comic book movies that have dominated the cinema in recent decades. It is also this reason that most likely draws me to others who routinely bring characters to life: cosplayers, burlesque dancers, and other performers, who more than not, serve as my collaborators within these images that seek to pierce the veil between fantasy and reality.
