Information

The sun had already set in the early winter sky over the Florida panhandle, but I knew the colors would really come out after sunset. I waited for the right moment and it was better than I expected - the sky had the colors of rainbow sherbet! I wanted the focus of the image to be on the surreal look of the sky over the ocean and to make it look like a watercolor painting. I used a slow shutter speed to capture the brilliant colors of the sky and to blur the movement of the ocean. "Splendor" is about the feelings of awe and wonder inspired by our natural world.
