Information

This scene comes directly from a dream I had. I was wandering through a mansion made from red wood and red carpet. It was musty, dusty, and appeared to have been vacant for a long time. I'm holding a candelabra as I wander this huge home. I go down a long hallway and there is a ghost girl; up close her face was twisted into a grimace, but I simply ignored her and continued down the hall. I enter into a rather large, mostly empty room, and in the corner of this room was a device; a device with dozens of flat mirrors fashioned onto a cylindrical base. It was a rather large object which I recognized instantly! I had a previous dream of this same exact device, except it was brightly lit up and well taken care of. Here, it was dark, dusty, and the mirrors riddled with decay. When I gazed upon it, my candelabra shown just how unloved, and unused it was. I could recall within the dream my previous dream, remembering how brightly lit it was before, and it made me so sad. Despite the ghosts and lack of knowing where I was, seeing my device so ill-treated was the worst of it all. This piece took me almost 2 years to complete because I was afraid to complete the challenge of recreating this device. But now that I did it to the best of my ability, my next step is to create the device in real life- it may take two years, it may take ten.
