Information

Alejandra started this artwork during the pandemic, which was also a very transitional period of her life. When she looks at this piece, she grieves for the person who painted it because she was mentally going through it, but it's also a giant symbol of hope because it helped manifest some of the things she has in her life now. Alejandra often represents herself using these abstract and dark figures. This one, in particular, represents her during a time when she questioned her femininity and gender fluency. The green and blue you see paired together represent the world and Earth, and the ladder symbolizes that the only place we can go from here is up.
