What would replace humans if everyone disappeared tomorrow? The painting explores the active creativity of nature and how it isn't dependent on human beings but is ongoing, uninterrupted by the comings and goings of countless species over billions of years. Were we inevitable or an aberration? Would nature ever create another intelligence that had the potential to again delve int the technologies that were our undoing?
