Over the course of two weeks, I had the opportunity to visit two national parks; Yellowstone and the Everglades. After each trip I had the most vivid dreams about that star in the sky that we know as "the sun".
As you can imagine, the Florida heat is like none other. I just happened to be in the Everglades during the end of a drought. The heat was so intense, most of the wildlife retreated into the mangroves. This feeling was the complete opposite of the tranquility I had in Yellowstone.
I felt so much at once while there- the beauty and freedom to explore the park, but also something similar to wrath and destruction.
"Icarus flew too close to the sun, but at least he flew".
I went to sleep that night and the body of the hand that curiously reached for the sun (see "Touch"), transformed into something greedy. It wanted the sun but was scared of it at the same time.
Make sure to check out "Touch" as this image is part of a diptych.
