Information

In the early 90s Sailor Moon was brought to the United States. It was heavily censored from the very beginning. From changing the gender of main characters and also changing same-sex relationships between villains as well. In the late 90s and early 2000s Cartoon Network brought the next arc of the Sailor Moon series to the United States. This introduced new characters who were older and more mature. Two of the main new Sailor Scouts were Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus. Sailor Uranus would wear the school uniform of a boy and was also professional racecar driver. They had many female admirers. The United States censored this out. They also censored out the relationship between sailor Uranus and sailor Neptune. Strangely making them cousins in the American version of the anime. In the late 90s and early 2000s same-sex couples were still very taboo. So Cartoon Network decided to censor their relationship. But I want to celebrate their relationship. It was never meant to be hidden. It was never hidden in Japan. So here they are as a loving couple out in the open. And not having to hide like so many still do for fear of coming out.
