I tend to create art intuitively with little, if any, expectation of the end result, and the process through which this piece came to be was no different. It is somewhat difficult to describe my artistic process in that I typically abandon structure and formalities in favor of methods that allow me to work from a place guided by raw emotion and instincts. In fact, when I started tis painting, I had no idea that it would eventually feature dolphins - they just happened to appear somewhere along the way. My only intention when I began painting this piece was to create something that captured the essence of movement and motion, and the incorporation of water was an important component in producing this effect. As I gained momentum while working on this piece, it's almost as if the painting itself began to reflect this energy. Once the dolphins appeared, the rest of the painting sort of just came together to create a lighthearted yet dynamic flow of colors that represent the essence of life in motion.
