This work expresses love as ultimately a spiritual experience; for physically we cannot become one, but our minds and spirits can experience union in love.
In the upper left corner, the light that shines represents the source of all being, all potential, the formless that emanates into form. The light appears as if being viewed under water, an ode to the medium that refracts and slows this light into the perceivable universe. Below this, a purple fire associated with the crown chakras merges above the two faces, eyes closed in a passionate kiss. They are experiencing sensation beyond the physical touch, layers falling out of perception, the skull becoming the labyrinth of thought and perception we navigate as external reality gives way to the internal experience. Some things break free of our mental confines, others remain trapped within, some bring beauty and others deception, love reveals many things otherwise hidden.
