This was the first work in a series created in response to the Covid19 onslaught. Things felt dark and ominous. To create a sense of stability I employed circles and squares. I applied the negative/reverse image of the moon as a symbol of darkness. Many symbols in this work I have used repeatedly over the years. Fragments of the Periodic table of elements; Chinese Joss paper; the nuclear symbol; and the Raven are part of my visual vocabulary. My surname, Corbett, means Raven and I inject it when needed as my presence in an image.
