For those of you that live in Tampa Bay, you will immediately recognize this photograph as the iconic Clearwater Pier. This photograph is a long exposure that was taken at dusk on a tripod. I don't recall the exact settings I used, but I believe it was a one second exposure at f11. I find that shutter speeds from a half a second to one second work the best for water scenes.
The stars were added later in Photoshop. I think the cool blue hues reflecting against the waves coupled with the vibrant colors of this landscape scene give the photo an ethereal vibe.
The photo is printed on aluminum which creates a backlit effect similar to watching a ultra high definition tv.
