I love Berlin, and October is the perfect month to be there. Last fall the air was crisp and cool, the sky clear. The circular collage is built around the Fernsehturm (television tower) which rises high above Alexanderplatz in old East Berlin. Also prominent are churches, especially the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechtniskirche, the most prominent landmark in the western part of the city, placed at the top. In between are many images taken in museums, on the streets, and in parks. And you can see me, reflected in Kreuzberg shop windows. But back away and look at the effect of all those pieces, the energy that pulls the viewer into the picture, Berlin is the heart, the capitol, of Europe.
