Information

This painting is a heartfelt tribute to our second adopted fur kitty, whom we welcomed into our lives along with her twin brother. Created six months prior to her passing, she holds a special place in our hearts as our longest living fur companion, having shared adventures in both California and Florida. She taught us invaluable lessons about resilience, patience, and the importance of taking mindful breaks to enjoy life's moments, such as finding the perfect spot to bathe in the sun. Though she, along with the other two, has passed away, their radiance continues to impact our lives.
This is indeed a special piece, not only because it honors our sly sweetness through an acrylic painting, but it's also my first venture into mixed media on a wooden panel. It also is my first attempt at incorporating Lippan Kaam - common South Asian art form from the Kutch region of Gujarat, India - aka Clay Work. The background trims are reminiscent of a Indian Palace door entrance created out of air dry clay and mosaic mirror tiles with one flower on each corner. There will be more of this type of mixed media work to come!
