Information

The blue poison dart frog is this painting's intensely vibrant star! A blended, but dappled brushstroke was used to create the transition of blues found on the frog's skin in nature. Washes of white were used to give the impression of a moist, tropical environment. This gorgeous, blue creature was made to further stand out by a strong light source/shadow, as well as setting it against a pyrrole and cadmium orange background. There is no fairytale to be found here, because one kiss from this frog prince would be deadly!
