I've always loved the night sky and how beautiful the stars can be. As I was painting this, I was torn between adding a bright "wishing" star or a shooting star. The feeling I was getting when painting the dark trees, of being swallowed up by darkness, inspired me to put a shooting star. For it is in some of our darkest times that we have to remember to keep our chins up and have hope. After researching "shooting stars", I came across an article that described 20 possible meanings of seeing a shooting star, and the one that resonated with me the most was "hope". It stated "Ultimately, shooting stars are symbols of hope, reminding us that even in the darkest of nights, there is light and possibility." It only seemed fitting to name this piece "Cosmic Hope".
