Information

Pure expression was the purpose of this piece. I began by painting my body with my hands. It’s a very messy process, lol. I then pressed the drop cloth to my body to transfer the acrylic. I continue this method until I’m happy with the result. There was such a strength to this print that I just knew she needed wings. I designed the wings and cut each piece out by hand on a scroll saw.

I named her Hrafindis the “Raven Goddess”. Ravens play a significant role in Norse mythology. Odin had two Ravens, Huggin and Muninn or Thought and Memory. They were his messengers and she is mine. Her message is that of lessons learned, strength gained and the importance of expression for continued growth.
