Artist Statement

The artwork for the present exhibit reflect subconscious manifestations of angels, mythological creatures and human emotions. Some of these paintings arise from personal experiences I had with other people, Indian Saints or from knowledge of eastern philosophy acquired during my trips in Europe, Asia and Africa. My paintings doesn't try to to find a meaning regarding their themes but rather reflect the soul of the world as it is presented to us in all its glorious mystery.

Biography

A self-Taught artist born in the island of Puerto Rico. Attracted to art and music sunce a young age it is difficult for me to remember a time when I was not expressing myself through a pencil, ink, paper, pastels or paint. Art has always and will forever be an integral part of how I envision this world and express myself. At age 26 after having visionary dreams of future spiritual developments and foreign countries I've never seen before, I left my Island on my own and traveled 5 continents and more than 21 countries without any steady form of income. These experiences are embedded in my art. I Returned to the U.S.A. after traveling for a full decade from 1986 to 1996. It was here in Tampa that I relatively settled and had the opportunity to dedicate myself professionally to my art. Art shows include: Solo Exhibition of drawings at the Casa Da Cultura Do Loule, Algarve, Portugal; Paintings displays in Perugia, Italy; Solo show at former Viva La Frida Restaurant- Gallery in Tampa; The Wandering Eye Art Gallery at Ybor City; Opus 19 in Carrolwood and solo art show at The House Of Shadows Art Galley in Tampa.
