Vanessa LeVesque [Luh Vek], an artist and New England native now living in St. Petersburg, Florida specializes in painted acrylic and resin works of art on wood panel and stone. Vanessa's art is created using thin layers of acrylic paint sealed in crystal clear resin to create vibrant, fun, and often times, humorous pieces of art, inspired by her unique point of views on modern culture, nostalgia, and her own life experiences. Vanessa's work is created with a touch of Northern cynicism and a little bit of Southern charm.
Vanessa LeVesque a Connecticut native, left the harsh winters of New England in 2006 after graduating from college with her bachelor's degree in art. LeVesque worked for several years in various jobs: mostly retail; customer service; and eventually as an art instructor at a paint and sip shop where she slowly started to toy with the idea of working in the arts as a full time artist. In November of 2020 LeVesque's father contracted Covid19 and was admitted to the ICU, his prognosis did not look good. To keep her mind fully occupied she decided to teach herself how to paint people by painting one portrait a day. LeVesque focused on painting actors and actresses from movies she and her dad had watched during her childhood. What started as a way to keep her mind fully occupied as her father recovered; soon turned into a new found passion. Today LeVesque paints from her home studio where she lives with her husband; three young children; and an assortment of pets... and if you're curious, her dad recovered.
