It is my daily practice to be immersed in Nature every day. My art doesn't replicate what I have observed, but instead relies on these precious moments as inspiration. I may use a variety of materials, but my process is fairly consistent. It is my goal to pay tribute to this beautiful world we live in and to remind us to take a breath and feel a moment of appreciation.
Charlotte Pearce had the great fortune to grow up in Maracaibo, Venezuela which enriched her view of life. She recently explained that when faced with a blank piece of paper it feels like she has a bunch of tentacles which unfurl on their own. Regardless of the medium, they take over until something in her brain says "OK, you are done". The joy of creating something feels like the wonderment of a child who sees an iguana or tastes a fresh coconut or touches a bougainvillea blossom for the first time.
