My art practice is an attempt to make sense of an uncertain world and the complexity of being human in the 21st century. As such, my practice continues to evolve over time, utilizing a variety of mediums including acrylic and oil paint, collage, fabric, papier-mâché, and found objects. Through abstract and figurative works, I explore themes of shame and vulnerability, generational trauma, womanhood, and the impermanence of the self.
I try to unite a scientist's observational powers with a lifelong love of color and the whimsical to appreciate the magic in the everyday and the world around us. Often, there is a tension between light and dark or geometrical precision and intuitive fluidity. My art has been described as dynamic, organic, and dreamlike.
