As an androgynous trans person, androgyny has a broad meaning to me. I don't see gender as a scale, but rather, a circular graph where certain attributes are highlighted more than others on each individual person. I believe that in any society where gender exists, (which as far as I know has been all societies so far) transgender will also exist. Only when we abolish gender will the term "transgender" become redundant. This ties into androgyny because it will also exist to spite any binary placed on said gender roles.
Raised in southern, Indiana, Tomas Cole is a transgender nonbinary artist. Much of their artwork stems from dreams and personal experiences. They began their journey as an artist in art class, not thinking they would enjoy art. However, they found a haven in that art room and took the time to learn their skill. Now, they use their platform to bring awareness of social issues such as BLM and trans rights.
