Blackness, Queerness, and Masculinity are social constructs defined and molded by white, heteronormative society. What is it to be Black? Being perceived as a criminal, an entertainer, or an athlete? Being treated as a walking threat to society and being fearful of authority? Or, being synonymous with slavery and systematic racism?
What is it to be Queer when Mainstream Queerness doesn't see your humanity until its time to fuck or advance the equality agenda? What is it to be a man? A Homo Sapien producing testosterone and having a dick between your legs? Being able to protect and provide for your family, or being aggressive and a leader?
Being at the intersection of Blackness, Queerness, and Masculinity, one will have a hard time defining oneself. To arrive at the foundational core of oneself, you'll have to strip away the social labels until you're metaphorically "nude." Then, you can define yourself with the best parts of being Black, Queer, and Masculine.
Demeterius Inostroza is on a mission. That mission is to inject Black Queer Masculinity representation into the Nude community and change the objective gaze on the Black, Queer masculine body. Utilizing acrylics, markers, mixed media, and pencils, he wants the world to see the full humanity of Black Queer and Trans men, not just the consumable parts. After being selected for Tampa's Nude Nite 2020 art show, he has no intentions of slowing down. He has shown in Skin Art Show 2021's the Speakeasy and 2022's Africa via Egypt, Xplict Exhibition 2022 and Cock: Defining Masculinity at the House of Shadows, and featured works on Blunt Space and Cloudfolios. He won't stop until his artwork is headlining a museum exhibit and Blak Masc Aesthetics has an art gallery booth at Art Basel in Miami.
