Career


Artist Statement


Much if Duckturnrot's art represents her struggles and victories in life. She faced many an adversity throughout her childhood and adulthood due to cultural and economic circumstances, including poverty, neglect, abuse, and warfare.
Navigating through these situations while having ASD presented unique challenges for Duckturnrot. In 2022, she found she was navigating through live with a life altering Autoimmune Disorder that affecting her ability to work, create and raise her special needs kids. She persevers regardless, volunteering her time to help local troubled Youth, combat sex-trafficking and promote global equality.

Biography


Duckturnrot Art is a self-taught autistic Mexican-American. She specializes in oil and soft pastel, as well as watersoluble mediums. She began her art journey in 2016 after taking a drawing class as an extracurricular for her BA in East Asian Studies. She continued Art as a hobby, enjoying that it it was a subject of challenge for her. Duckturnrot has designed content and/or created artwork for Environmental Paper Network, DK Zero Studio, Taishade Studio and Studio NEET.
Duckturnrot received a certification of Artistic Merit (2021) from the International Luxembourg Museum for her piece "Discombobulated". In 2022, Duckturnrot had her piece "Faces of Adversity" featured in the Springfield Museum's showing of WaterColor USA (2022).
Currently, Duckturnrot goes to Graduate school full. Duckturnrot has a TC in Cyber Security, a BA in East Asian Studies, an MA in International Relations and tentative MA in Art and Technology. She volunteers her time to with help troubled Youth.
