I categorize my work as "Acid Americana." It is an abstract expressionist exploration of the iconic American West; from Phoenix to Jackson; Denver to Humboldt; Joshua Tree to Santa Fe. I am enamored of the colors, textures and sweeping vistas of these places, and seek to capture them in a way that is kinetic and unapologetic. We have plenty of pretty postcards by talented artists, but I hope to capture the wild spirit of these places.
I prefer to work in mixed media, primarily latex and acrylic paints, inks, gouache, charcoal, pastel, and metal leaf embellishments. My paintings range from 18x24" to 36x48".
I'm an emerging artist based in Moab, Utah. After spending the last ten years traveling the globe, I've started painting again.
I take inspiration from the sights and sounds of the American West. I'm fascinated with color, movement, and texture. The breadth of the shapes and colors of the Western landscape will never cease to comfort and inspire me.
My influences include historical and contemporary artists from Toulouse-Lautrec to Agustí Puig, Pat Stier, and Ricardo Weisse, as well as performing arts including works by Quixotic, Cirque Eloize, The Seven Fingers and the early creations of Franco Dragone.
