Artist Statement

Have you ever stared at a painting so long because you wanted to know the meaning behind the paint marks? For Morgan Welch, she is all about telling stories through her paintings. Starting at the age of four creativity is her passion. Finding a way to share a story visually without using words is so powerful. With over 20 years now of experience, she continues to challenge herself to tell her story and the stories of others in her artwork. The paintings are so much more than colors on a page.

Biography

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland. Morgan graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in studio art and graphic design. Currently residing in Tampa, FL she spends her free time painting and highlighting the beauty of all women and the natural beauty all around us. She believes that art is up for interpretation. It is meant to grab your attention good, bad, or indifferent. Art should be a discussion; it is a form of expression and entertainment that should be celebrated and criticized at the same time.
