Artist Statement

My relationship with art began not with a paintbrush but with a pen. My desire in using words with the goal of sharing an image, emotion or reaction with the reader grew into visually creating the same connection using photography. Eventually this led to where paint and mixed media have become my primary means of continuing this journey. I enjoy using seemingly in-congruent materials, colors and themes to explore an idea. Like poetry my goal is to pare it down to the minimum. Keep it simple, basic, stark or even intentionally misleading but always with an underlying message and deliberate space to let the reader (or viewer) bring their own story to the piece.

Biography

Zora de Bodisco is a Gulfport, Florida artist. She has exhibited in local galleries and participated in art events and shows as well as contributed pieces for a variety of events supporting local charities and causes.
