Artist Statement

Life inspires me, the human struggle intrigues me, and I am caught in between both canvas and my spirit as I seek to declare what all 4 of them are constantly saying to me. The soul tells the mind what to create after the heart and the hands of the artist have had a most meaningful conversation. Such silent speeches can be made through the inspiration of many occurrences in life an artist can experience, whether through fate, chance, or designed orchestrated actions. I believe this to be true with me as an artisan. I credit God with the skill that has been given to me as I create what my heart feels and what my mind thinks while my hands speak through paint and ink.

Biography

I have been drawing nearly all my life and have been fascinated with art since the early days of my youth. It has been my medicine, joy, job, and many more things that I couldn't not possibly list to you in such a short amount of time and space. I enjoy using my God given talents to express myself visually in different forms of mixed media and subject matter that are as convoluted as the materials I use to create my artworks. From soda to dirt to acrylic paint to ketchup, I've put many a substance and ingredient to the test of serving as paint for the creations I love to make most frequently. As a graduate of both Florida A&M University and Florida State University, I enjoy various forms and movements of art from dada, surrealism, street art, propaganda art, and graffiti to name a few.
