Create artfully with random joy!
More than fifty years ago while working towards an Interior Design degree I was introduce to two dimensional acrylic art. Thus began a lifetime love of painting. Through the years although I did not pursue the design field my artistic world consisted of public and private murals, random art fairs and commissioned pieces.
In 1993 I was hired to work in an elementary school where I expanded my love of art through bulletin board decoration, numerous classroom instructional sessions and the introduction to a wonderful volunteer who recognized my artistic talent. Through Mrs. Ann I was introduced to an inspiring group of artists that led to several small gallery shows and several commissions.
Working full-time in the elementary school library and raising a family put my love of painting in the background until I retired in 2021. Upon retirement I began to paint in earnest and attempted to build a business around my work. A mildly successful effort that overshadowed my love for the creation of a colorful and fulfilling piece of work.
The last few years I have continued an artistic love moving away from traditional painting to various forms of collage. Found objects, jewelry, cardstock and yupo paper. My most recents works are a series of collages on cradled wood using multiple mediums primarily subway tiles and yupo papers.
