I was once told that art can only be considered true art if it creates an emotional response from the viewer. That is my goal when I create a photo. My photos tend to be sharp and in-focus. I like bright colors and a sense of reality. I create art with my photos. They are never the same that comes out of the camera. Through the use of Photoshop I take a take a common photo and create a piece of art that I hope will be unforgettable. Many of my photos are pleasing to look at but some are not so pleasing showing the reality of today's world. When I shoot models I tend to make their photos resemble the way I see them in my mind and reflect what I see as their personality.
I began as a photographer shooting black and white film in my 40's. I had a darkroom in my basement and enjoyed taking photos and developing pictures. At that time I entered in several contests and won several awards including a first for my black and white photos. In 2008 I bought my first digital camera a Nikon D80. At that time I taught myself Photoshop. In 2017 I entered a contest at the Artists' Gallery, a local art gallery in Ellicott City, Maryland.. Although I didn't win the contest the members of the gallery were so impressed with my photos I was asked to join the gallery. Since that time I have been a professional photographer having sold multiple photos in the gallery. I shoot architecture, landscape and models.
