Presence and Perspective are two key words when it comes to describing my photography. There are many moments that may be easily overlooked because they couldn't possibly compete with the distractions of today. I can give these quiet moments a voice. I can highlight them and share them in a way they are deserving of. I don't limit myself to any "rules" of photography. I spend time with each image until it resonates with the feeling the moment evoked. A tree is much more than a tree if you allow if to captivate you and summon creativity. Each person's perspective is unique. The world would be missing out if I did not share mine.
I have always been an artist. I've always known it to be true yet struggled to share my art with others. When I was young I loved to doodle, write poetry, and make new out of old but I often kept it more to myself to avoid criticism. My art was an outlet for me, I didn't see the need to share it. As I began taking photos, that all changed. I would notice a moment or object in a way that most others wouldn't. I began to slow down, looking for the beauty in unusual places. When I captured these moments, I found myself compelled to share. If my perspective can encourage others to be more present when taking in the world around them, the thought alone brings such gratification. I have no formal training. I don't possess any professional equipment. I use my eyes, guided by soul to find my subjects. The rest is just play.
