Artist Statement

I do not have a formal art background. I started taking classes and workshops to paint better. My current work is about 50 % batik and 50% acrylic paintings.

My work is bright , whimsical and funny. I want people to look at my work and smile. Mother Nature is my primary inspiration.

Biography

After 23 years in the military and 35 years in sales and sales management, I landed in key West. My journey began able to take classes from some amazing artists in watercolor, acrylic and batik. I am also a big international traveler and try to include classes on all my trips. I do watercolor, acrylic and a special batik.

My biggest joy is when my art brings others joy and makes them smile. My work can be found in several galleries like Guild Hall Gallery, Key West, Artists in Paradise, Big Pine Key, Rainbow Springs Art Gallery, Dunellon, Coastal Art Gallery, Crystal River Florida and on my website KathySageArt.com.
