Artist Statement

Biography

Orlando based painter and illustrator, Vilca, has been expanding her creative space into multiple different mediums focusing on the common themes of pop-art, surrealism, and abstract. Originally from Scotch Planes, New Jersey, Vilca has always been intrigued by the arts and has recently begun exploring her own style and voice through visual arts. Most of Vilcas work is inspired by her upbringing and the challenges she has faced from losing loved ones to deeper conversations about addiction and depression. Her aim is to shed light on these issues through bold and bright paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces that illicit deep and meaningful conversations. She is currently expanding her knowledge in many mediums while attending the University of Central Florida and focusing on a Graphic Design degree.
