Biography

"Ms. Sumerel is a Florida artist who has been exhibiting her art for many years. She creates beautiful art designs, from original acrylic paintings on canvas to watercolor designs on paper, which often serve as inspiration for the many creations of lovely fashion and home decor products offered at THE PAINTED LABEL. With a professional background in creative arts and fashion, and over 30 years of experience in an ever-changing and competitive industry, her art offers a timeless ambiance, evoking a feeling like none other. Before her art and products can be created, an image has to evolve, with a large portion of her inspiration coming from living in a coastal region. She primarily paints her original designs on canvas but has been known to, as she jokingly puts it, "paint on just about anything that will take paint." She works with a variety of different art mediums such as watercolor, acrylics, and colored pencils.

From palette to canvas, her work demonstrates a flair for elegance, softness, calmness, and sometimes a bit of whimsy. Her signature art varies from bold blues to vibrant colors, which can be observed in many of her paintings. Her designs for her art are inspired by bits and pieces of her past and present, from studying on Broadway to working with marine life in Florida, and from the whimsical stories she creates as Executive Director for Children's Educational Theater.

She has previously worked in collaboration with top companies such as AEROBLEND Airbrush Makeup at the Premiere Beauty show in Orlando, showcasing her artist-designed fashion bags, and Bahama Breeze Restaurants where her coastal paintings are currently displayed.
