Artist Statement

I like to imbue my paintings with style, color, contrast and emotion. Whether it is the beauty of a figure or flowers, a seascape or a still life; I want to portray the colorful world around us through my distinct vision as a designer and artist. I try to portray my emotional connections to my art, hopefully conveying it to the viewers.

Biography

I am a third generation artist. I can't remember ever NOT creating in one way or another. From cake decorating to painting, drawing and becoming a fashion designer and creating fashion sketches and custom clothing. I only recently came back to painting and drawing. I started painting in earnest when I was recently laid off from my laboratory career. Trying to make an income in between jobs, I rediscovered my passion for art. I sometimes sit and admire my mother's or especially my grandmother's paintings and contemplate what they would say of my art. I have the last painting my grandmother was able to paint before she went blind and respect her perseverance in being able to complete it.
