Artist Statement

Painting and manipulating materials on the floor is where I prefer to paint. It allows me to express my feelings and it releases my emotions. As I sink into a deep escape, I become more connected with the canvas. The pieces fall into place. I may not know what the end result will be, as long as it speaks.

Biography

Carla Fairchild is a self taught artist from the Tampa Bay area. Her passion is abstract/mixed media because it allows her to express herself with no boundaries. She uses acrylic and spray paint, along with recycled materials. She uses brushes, cardboard or her fingers as tools. Her inspiration comes from her chronic illness I called RSD or CRPS. Having a health challenge pushes her to persevere. Her illness inspires her but painting rescued her.
