Artist Statement

This artwork is part of my "Fantastical Symbology" series. I consider it a form of Post Modern Expressionism. I capture a moment in time - The energy of the action, sound and colors reflect the vibe that I am communicating. Symbology will elicit a different emotional connection for each viewer; based on personal experiences.

I use symbolism deeply rooted in our minds. Based on ancient cultural beliefs for thousands of years and connected to the ideas of Carl Jung's theories regarding the Collective Unconscious and Universal Archetypes.

Biography

My entire life has been in pursuit of making art of all types. My first word was paper. as a child I would draw on the walls in my house not understanding why it was frowned upon. I have created in many forms including Watercolor, Acrylic and Oil Painting as well as Mosaics, Clay, Rock Gardens and Hand Designed Note Cards.

After I graduated from art school with a degree in advertising and illustration, I worked as a graphic designer in New York. I designed packaging for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, magazine advertisements and billboards seen in Times Square.

I then went on to graduate with a Masters Degree in Art Education. I worked as a High School art teacher in Queens, New York, helping young artists prepare their portfolios for college acceptance. Currently I am an ESE art teacher in Broward County, Florida.

Throughout my professional career, I have always gone back to painting as my primary creative outlet.
