Artist Statement

My paintings are created using predominately acrylic paints. My compositions are passionate about the subject and expresses my curiosity, imagination and the wonderment of this world. I leave many questions unanswered so you are free to answer them for yourself. That way, you get to sense the mystery and feel the awe within my work.

I invite you to pause and absorb the beauty of life and sense the energy expressed in my art.

Biography

Gloria's art brings forth her passion for color and texture. Her artistic interests range from Florida flora to New York Cityscapes. Her passion for each subject makes her compositions come alive. Gloria's love for leading, sharing, and teaching inspired her to earn a Masters degree in adult education. She spent years as a manager in IBM, owned her own nursery school, and is an accredited rug hooking instructor.

Gloria has experienced both urban and suburban life in and around new york city; raised cattle on a Texas ranch, followed her husband to a Brethren farm in Pennsylvania, integrated into the community life of Block Island, and took a break to tour the US bymotor home.

Her contemporary Abstract florals are filled with Her brilliant use of color and imagery. Her abstracted figurative paintings tell the stories of the lives of the people she encounters. Her book, portraits from new york is available on her website.
